The primary advantage of a simple gaming headset is to have the input from internal sensors (eg a MEMS gyroscope) be communicated and interpreted by the PC as MouseLook (also known as FreeLook). By allowing the gamer to freely look around the environment they can even more freely move in that environment in a natural way using remaining devices such as the mouse or joystick.

We are exploring two approaches to communicating headset sensor data to the PC. If it is possible to send those signals down the USB-C display cable to be extracted by the PC without interfering with the imaging then that would be the simplest and likely lowest cost. Otherwise we will add a Bluetooth transmitter to the headset to become another mouse device for the PC.
